Granicrete is a concrete overlay system. I either go on top of your existing Counter tops or build you new countertops with 3/4 inch mdf boards.

I double up the exposed edges to give the appearance of a 1 1/2 inch thick countertop. The Granicrete goes on the top in 4 layers. The first two are very thin, the second 2 are thicker and are spread on. The total build up though is less that 1/4 inch thick of concrete, so they are not huge thick heavy counters.

Once the concrete is completed, I have a white blank canvas to make your counters. I use different stains and colors to color your counters just the way you want them. There are many different styles and about 30 different colors to choose from, so when I am done, your counters will be unlike any others and one of a kind.

When the coloring is done, the counters are sealed, and then I go over them with a clear epoxy. This gives the counters a shiny 3D look that is truly beautiful!

The counters are tough; heat rated at over 500 degrees and are scratch resistant.

As with all countertops (Granite included) it is recommended that you use heat pads for your pans and use a cutting board so you do not scratch the surface and finish. If and when scratches do occur, you can simply wipe them off, or use any quality automotive wax to buff them out.

Granicrete counters are better than Marble, Travertine of Granite counters as they are completely sealed and non porous. If you are thinking you can cut on Granite tops, you should ask yourself â?oWhy Would I?â? Granite is a porous stone. They are not USDA approved for food preparation! You will not find them in any restaurant where they prepare food. You would never want to cut chicken on them and allow the juices to go into the stone!

Also unlike Granite, they do not stain if you spill red wine or the like on them. Granicrete is completely sealed and USDA approved!

Granite countertops have seems and need to be resealed every so often. Granicrete counters do not need to be resealed, and there are no seams on your counter to worry about.

At Valley Renovations we currently built and install Granicrete counters for $35 to $45 per square foot depending only on whether you want a three inch back splash or an under mount sink installed. Most types of colors and edging are available at no extra charge.

Also, the cost of the counters includes in installation of your new (or existing) sink and faucet when your counters are installed. Some other counter installers may throw in a free cheep sink that they chose, but will then charge you $200 for the plumbing installation and $50 per hole they will drill for your faucet! Then they charge you $200 to $300 to get rid of your old counters! With us, you chose the sink and faucet you want and we take care of the install at no additional charge!

Here are some of the most common questions I am asked about the Granicrete countertops.

1) What is the difference between an under mount sink and a top mount sink.

The under mount sink is an attractive option that you often find with granite countertops. Some people really like the look.

2) What are the pros and cons of under mount vs top mount?

Proâ?Ts of an under mount are mostly visual. There are a few cons. #1 it costs more to install and make the finished opening for the sink. 2, you would need to buy a new sink. Top mounts sinks can rarely be used as under mounts. 3. The sink will need to be put into the cabinet before the counter is installed. So if the sink is ever damaged (rarely happens) or you just want to change the sink out, the counters have to be removed to do it. No small task.

Again, the look is very nice.

3) Do you use my existing sink or can I get a new one?

Whether we do the under mount or not, I would strongly recommend a new sink and faucet. The install is included with the countertops and an old sink on these amazing counters can be unattractive.

4) I also have an RO system for the sink. Under mount or top mount?
We can do the RO system.

5) Do you need to come out to my house to get the true lay of the land and measure?

Yes. but we can exchange much of the information ahead of time and even do a estimate before i come out if you would like.

6) Do I need to come see you to pick out finishes, edging, colors, etc.?

When I come to measure, I will bring sample boards so you can see the colors and edging.

7) Do the various edges and colors cost more?

With Granite countertops the edges do cost more. Not with Granicrete. There is no additional edge charge.

8) Is it possible to create a matching table top out of this stuff based on my existing table top?

I can pretty much Granicrete any solid surface. I have done tables, picture framesâ?¦ anything.

9) Also-we are going to be remodeling two bathrooms and I was just going to purchase granite slabs for the counters...but it sounds like it would be way less expensive to purchase the cabinets and have you create the counter tops for me?

Yes. I do bathroom vanities all the time. I can overlay your existing vanities or make you new ones.

I hope this helps!

I hope to hear from you soon!
