When homeowners are ready to turn their dreams of beautiful, custom granite kitchen countertops, marble floors (exterior or interior), fireplaces, and shower enclosures into realties, itâ?Ts time to call the experts at Battaglia Marble and Granite in Harbor City.

The Battaglia family has been assisting homeowners, designers and contractors with project design, material supply, fabrication and installation at competitive prices since 1967. Gino Battaglia began working in marble and sculpturing in Italy at the age of 13. In 1962, he migrated to the United States from his native Sicily. His first job was as a foreman in a local marble shop; six years later he opened Battaglia Marble and Granite in Harbor City.
Over the years, the business has grown from a staff of 2 with a 2,500 square foot office, showroom, and shop, to a staff of 45 with a 67,000 square foot space which includes multiple offices, an expanded showroom, an extensive shop, a huge slab yard, and a subterranean warehouse. Gino Battagliaâ?Ts wife Maria, has worked hand-in-hand with him as the companyâ?Ts Secretary/Treasurer since itâ?Ts founding.

Today, the business is run on a daily basis by Gino Battagliaâ?Ts son, John. Johnâ?Ts wife, Kym, who is an A.S.I.D. Interior Designer, along with other knowledgeable staff members, offers design consultation to create and fulfill all aspects of the customerâ?Ts planning needs. The professionals at Battaglia work together as a team to assist customers with design ideas, color selection, sizing, edge detailing, measurements and pricing.

Throughout the years, the companyâ?Ts original goal, to provide the best possible quality and service to their customers, has remained a constant. â?oWe take great pride in the work we do and the reputation for excellence which we have achieved,â? said John Battaglia.
Battaglia imports stone including marble, granite, limestone, travertine, slate, and onyx from all over the world. They specialize in kitchen and bath countertops, flooring, fireplace surrounds, showers, tubs, and furniture. Gino Battaglia now travels the world to seek out new and unusual colors to import and add to Battagliaâ?Ts current extensive collection of stones. Selection is not limited to materials on display however, as Battaglia can supply any color that is available on the marketplace through their relationship with other local suppliers. A display featuring a full-size kitchen countertop, a bathtub, shower, mantle, statuary and accessories is testimony to their exquisite work. Further, full-color pictorial albums offer customers more examples of the versatility of stones and its tasteful application in virtually any decor.
â?oGranite and Marble offer many practical advantages over ceramic tile as there are no grout joints, theyâ?Tre easier to clean, are heat and scratch resistant, and they can be
repaired, said John Battaglia.

Battagliaâ?Ts extensive fabrication facility is equipped with state-of-the-art machinery imported directly from Italy. Their skilled craftsmen, some of whom have been with Battaglia for over 25 years, excel in custom fabrication. â?oHigh polish and honed finishes are the most popular today, however, we also offer sandblasted, flamed, and other custom finishes,â? added John Battaglia.

A huge slab yard is filled with 5 acres of granite, marble, limestone, travertine, and other natural stone tiles and slabs. Because of Battagliaâ?Ts enormous inventory, customers have the unique opportunity of being able to see the crystal formations and/or veining in the entire slab that will be used for their project.

Well trained experienced installers are the final link in the Battaglia equation. These detail-oriented men, whose job it is to install the finely crafted pieces in the customerâ?Ts home, offer the highest possible quality workmanship backed by Battagliaâ?Ts customer satisfaction guarantee.

Finally, Battaglia offers restoration of existing marble floors. Sealing is offered to protect marble products and to prevent staining. A maintenance program, which incorporates sealing and general cleaning on a regular basis to avoid the need for serious restoration, is also available.
