Laser Surgery and Ear Flushing
We know that surgery can be an unsettling experience for many pet owners. We take very seriously the trust that you grant us by entrusting your pet in our care for a surgical procedure. To minimize the potential risks of surgery we offer:
Video Otoscopy and Ear Flushing: We offer a digital view of pets ears and have new flushing system that can clean out hair, dirt and ear wax that can cause discomfort in your pets. We can show you a before and after picture and also remove growths or cysts with the scope.
Monitor Surgery: The heart rate, blood oxygen saturation, temperature and respirations are closely monitored during and after surgery.
Pre-anesthetic Blood Testing: We recommend running blood-work the morning of the surgery to check the kidneys and liver function to see if they can properly metabolize the anesthetic. It also gives us a complete blood counts and checks glucose levels. These are all very helpful in detecting possible complications before using an anesthetic agent.
Pain Medication: We offer an injection of medication to ease any discomfort before surgery as well as an oral medication to be given at home for the next few days after surgery.
Post-Operative Phone Call: We give a courtesy phone call after your pet is out of surgery to inform you of their recovery. We want to ease your mind as soon as we can by informing you of how your pet is doing post- operatively and how soon they can go home.
