Park Avenue Laser Vision is the ONLY Center in NYC to perform 100% non-cutting surgery. Every other center has to perform this safer, non-cutting surgery sometimes instead of cutting a flap. Like in patient with high Rxs, thin corneas, large pupils, irregular astigmatism, patients who blink/sqeeze--cutting a flap in LASIK or IntraLase or I-LASIK is not safe, so they are forced to avoid cutting a flap.
Dr. Chynn decided in 2004--why put every patient at a low risk of a disastrous flap complication, when there is a more advanced procedure that ELIMINATES ALL FLAP-RELATED COMPLICATIONS? That's when he decided to switch his entire practice from LASIK to LASEK!
