Dr. Johnson graduated cum laude with an Associate of Science from Chowan College. He attended Illinois Benedictine College and the National College of Chiropractic simultaneously between 1974-76 in order to graduate early. He graduated cum laude, earning a B.S. in Biology and a B.S. in human biology at the two institutions, respectively. At Illinois Benedictine, he was inducted into the Biological Honorary Society and earned a football athletic grant-in-aid. While attending the National College of Chiropractic at the same time, he was the receipient of Col. Harland Sanders Scholarships. He received his Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 1978. Dr. Johnson is a diplomate of the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners and was the recipient of the New member of the year award given by the North Carolina Chiropractic Association.
Dr. Johnson spent a year externship at the Mont Clare Clinic in Chicago. After his externship, Dr. Johnson spent two years at the Davie Chiropractic Health Center in Davie County. While living and working in Davie County, he was on the board of directors of the Mockville Jaycees and was also the fund-raising chairman for the Davie County Heart Fund.
Dr. Johnson has professional license in both North and South Carolina. His post-graduate studies include a license in Acupuncture from the National College Postgraduate Division: sports injury studies at the Parker Research Seminar: and certification in the evaluation of permanent impairment.
