Welcome to SVVS! Southwest Virginia Veterinary Services was established in 1975 by Drs. Bayard and Margaret (Peggy) Rucker following their graduation from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine. The orginial hospital, called Lebanon Veterinary Clinic, was located on Hwy 71 just outside of Lebanon, Virginia.
Our new, beautifully maintained, hospital was built in 1985 and is located just off the Hwy 19 bypass in Lebanon. Our hospital offers many features to meet the needs of you and your pet. We are a full service facility offering complete surgical and medical care, including intensive care for those severely ill and/or injured patients. We also offer boarding in addition to a full retail area where you can purchase grooming products, treats, and toys. We are proud to also offer basic obedience classes as well as puppy socialization and agility classes.
When you visit our hospital, we encourage you to take time to walk through our Memory Garden located just to the left of the entrance to our hospital. This quiet and peaceful garden, complete with wisteria covered arbor and a water fountain, is filled with remembrances of patients and clients. Our Garden is a manifestation of the love, concern, and care we share with our pets and their owners. The Memory Garden, which was emotionally dedicated in 2002, continues to grow each year with dedications of plants and stepping stones in honor of pets and their people.
