When you arrive for your first appointment, you will be asked to fill out some paperwork so that we can get a better idea of your health history and of your health goals.

You and the doctor will have a consultation to get to know one another better, and you will receive a computerized spinal scan using Insight Millenium software that helps to determine the condition of the nerves of the spine. If Dr. Rizzo determines that you are indeed a candidate for chiropractic care, an examination will follow. If necessary, xrays will be taken using state-of-the-art equipment, to better help confirm the findings of the examination and to make your care more precise.

The next day you will return for a report of findings, where the doctors will discuss the specific types of treatment that will be helpful for you and also your schedule of treatment. We often recommend a treatment program of chiropractic adjustments, physical therapy, stretches, exercises, and nutritional recommendations.

Therapies

â?¢Laser Therapy:

Healing Hands Chiropractic has the most advanced cold laser in Hampton Roads. This low-level laser is used for tissue repair. This type of laser vastly differs from the heat lasers that are often use to cut tissue in surgical procedures. The cold laser does not emit heat, and therefore stimulates rather than destroys tissue. It emits light energy through the layers of the skin and leads to increased circulation and tissue regeneration. The benefits of laser therapy include decreased pain and inflammation, increased range of motion, and many other benefits.

Percussive Therapy:

Healing Hands uses the VPII Percussor from Erchonia to help in the repair of damaged soft tissues. This device helps facilitate myofascial release, which is a massage technique that stretches fascia, the connective tissue that binds muscles and bones. Using the percussor results in faster healing for the patient with less pain that usually accompanies this treatment. Its many uses include deep and superficial facial release, visceral manipulations, adhesion and scar tissue release, as well as help for muscle spasms and lymphatic congestion.

EB 305 Detox System:

The EB 305 incorporates "Cellular Cleanse Therapy". People are constantly being exposed to pollutions which includes dangerous toxins and heavy metals. The body's ability to cleanse itself becomes overloaded and these toxins can build up, resulting in physical ailments and potential health problems. The EB 305 enhances the body's ability to internally cleanse itself by using a magnetic energy force to help cancel out and eliminate harmful free radicals and other toxins from the body. It helps in draining the lymphatic system and improving the immune systme, as well as improving energy levels and reducing swelling and pain.
