When a person seeks chiropractic care, and when a chiropractor accepts that person as a patient, it is essential that both parties are seeking and working for the same goals. I have one goal as a chiropractor. It is important that you understand this goal and means that will be used to attain it. In this way there will be no confusion, misunderstanding or disappointment. The purpose of chiropractic is to restore and maintain the integrity of the spinal cord and its nerve roots. These vital nerve pathways are housed in and protected by the bones of the spine. When these bones lose their structural integrity it may interfere with the normal function of the nervous system. By means of a chiropractic adjustment, spinal abnormalities are corrected, restoring normal nerve function. With proper nerve supply, health improves and pain disappears. In some cases, symptoms clear up quickly. For others the process is slower.
