SchneiderHome Equipment Co. opened for business in 1935. Initially known as SchneiderHardware, the first store was located in Fairmount. Schneider's primaryproducts were custom painted wood storm windows and doors. In the mid 50's, windowsand doors were being manufactured with aluminum. It was a significanttransition moving from painted wood products to the new maintenance freealuminum products. In 1955, land was purchased to relocate the headquarters toPippin Road, where it remains today. Schneider's built its lasting reputationwith the installation of doors, windows, roofing, siding and gutters, glass andscreen enclosures, three and four season patio rooms, patio covers and aluminumrailing. Over the last 80 years, Schneider's still strive to exceed customers'expectations with quality prices and professional installation at the lowestprice possible.
