In an accident, your safety could depend on your windshield. If it's been replaced, improper installation, poor quality glass or the wrong adhesive could cause serious problems.
"The windshield is a critical component of your car's safety system," says Russ Corsi, Manager of Technical Services for PPG.
"It positions the passenger side airbag. If your windshield becomes dislodged because it was
improperly installed, the airbag can't protect the passenger. It also helps support the roof. In fact, the windshield is integral to the structural integrity of the roof."
Corsi says there are four elements to a quality windshield replacement:
-- A professional installer. -- The right glass.
-- The right adhesive.-- A warranty.
Stone Chip Repairs

Temperature extremes & car washes may help to increase the chance that your stone chip damage will get worse. If you put off repairs too long - replacement my be your only option.

What is a car mirror?
Automotive mirrors are first surface chrome glass. This is essentially a one-way mirror, manufactured by a select number of North American companies.
This type of mirror is used so that headlight glare from behind the vehicle can be absorbed through the mirror and into the mirror housing. This allows the driver to see reflections from activity on the sides and behind the vehicle without becoming impaired by bright headlight reflections.
Since the 1970's, passenger side mirrors have been convex with the standard "objects are closer"...statement sandblasted or lasered at its base. A convex mirror is used to increase the field of vision to the rear of the vehicle.
Althorear vision parts of a vehicle. FMVSS111 specifies the required range of vision that the driver must achieve utilizing rear vision products. In a addition, FMVSS111 requires that the rear vision products use low reflectivity mirror (40 - 60 percent reflectivity).
